En learning study syftar till att möjliggöra ett lärande, involvera lärare att läsa litteratur samt att forskarna kommer att lära sig hur teorin fungerar i praktiken (Marton, 2003). Learning study är en metod för forskning och modell för lärarfortbildning och är en sammanslagning av lesson study och design experiment.
